After ending his stay with Ashanti Gold SC, midfielder James Akaminko says he is ready to continue his career with regional rivals Asante Kotoko.

In the last two years, the 24-year old has been one of the best midfielders in the country. His exploits have seen him representing the Black Stars B team where he equally impressed.

Following the expiration of his contract with Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC after the cancelation of the 2019/2020 football season, James Akaminko is now a free agent.

In an interview with Kumasi FM, the midfielder has cryptically issued a ‘come and get’ me plea to Asante Kotoko.

“I’ve not spoken to coach Maxwell Konadu yet. He spoke to me when I was contracted to Ashgold for a possible transfer to Kotoko. He told me he spoke to the management and it was positive but I’ve not heard from him since.

“I’m yet to hear from him again but I’m willing to play for Kotoko, it will be an honour for a whole Kotoko to approach me. I will thank God if I receive a call from Kotoko asking for my services”, James Akaminko said.

The player who looks to have his mind set on playing for the Porcupine Warriors says he will choose the Kumasi-based club over a transfer to abroad if only they express interest in his services.

“Opting between playing for Kotoko or traveling abroad, I will opt to play here than traveling abroad”, Akaminko added.
