Ghanaian defender, Mohammed Salisu says he will work hard to ensure he develops his game at English Premier League side Southampton.

After a roller-coaster campaign in the 2019/2020 edition of the English top-flight league, the Saints have entered into the transfer market to bolster their squad for the next season.

Today, the club has announced that they have sealed the signing of Mohammed Salisu from Spanish club Real Valladolid.

At age 21, the centre-back is still gradually developing his game even though he has displayed a lot of maturity in the past year.

Speaking in his first interview, the Ghanaian says Southampton is a very good club to further develop his craft.

“It’s a very good club for me to develop my skills and to learn a lot as a young player and I’m very happy to join. Southampton has a fantastic history in developing young players and I hope I do my best to add to that group”, the defender said as quoted by the official website of his new club.

Salisu also describes his move to the St. Mary’s club as a dream come true while noting that he is ready for the challenge that lies ahead.

“For me, it has been a dream since I was a child to play in the Premier League and I am very, very happy to be here. We all know it is a very tough league, but I am ready for everything to put all I can into helping the team.

“It is a very good feeling to be a Southampton player. I am very happy to be part of the club and I am looking forward to starting here”, Salisu shared.
