Former Hearts of Oak defender, Benjamin Agyare believes the management of the club should have accepted the demands of Joseph Esso.
Esso was part of the five players that were released on Friday with the club claiming the players released failed to renew their contracts.
But according to the Agyare, the club didn’t do enough to extend the stay of the striker.
“Hearts of Oak should have given more than what he (Joseph Esso) demanded just to keep him at the club because when was the source of goals,” he told Green FM.
“Joseph Esso should not have left because his position is more important than where I was playing and I think they (Hearts of Oak) didn’t do enough to get him to stay.
"I was not surprised at the decision of the management but for me, I wanted to continue my career with them and the unfortunate happened," he added.
