Ghanaian Referees for Fifa Selection Exercise

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has selected 26 Ghanaian referees to participate in a selection exercise on August 25 in Lome, Togo.

This follows an approval of the selected referees by the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The selected male referees are made up of Justus Agbeko, Alex Kotey, Joseph Lamptey, W.L. Quaye and Thomas Nunoo from Accra, Christian Atsatsa 96 Tema, William Agbovi 96 Suhum, Cecil Fletcher - Takoradi, Seidu Bomison - Wa, Reginald Lathbridge - Kumasi, The female referees are made up of Vivian Aggor- Accra, Benedicta Wormade - Ho and Mercy Tagoe from Tema.

The one-day programme has the assistant referees made up of Nicholas Djomoah - Koforidua, Samuel Quaye and David Laryea- Accra, Haruna Ayuba and A.S. Malik - Tamale, George Saija - Sefwi, Boadu Ayeboafo Ahmed Kumasi, Eric Addo Gyan - Nsawam, Adams Ibrahim - Wa, Dawood Oeudraogo - Bolgatanga.

The women assistant referees include Innocentia Abgavitor - Ho, Abigail Sowah - Accra and Mary Seidu from Tema. The ages of the referees as well as the assistant referees range from 30 years to 44 years.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the GFA copied to the GNA Sports and the Referees Association of Ghana said the nominated referees are to attend a medical examination at the Civil Servants Clinic.

He said arrangements have being made to transport the invited referees to make the trip to Togo, a day before the start of the exercise.

It asked the selected referees to report to the secretariat, at 11 on August 24, to embark on the trip.
