Former Western Regional Football Association boss, Kojo Yankah beleives the Ghana Football Association (GFA) wanted to outsmart Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer with the appointment to serve on a three-member Ad-Hoc committee.

On Wednesday, the country’s football governing body named Mr Osei Palmer as a member of the three-member committee.

But the spokesperson for Osei Kweku Palmer, Ebo Appiah confirmed that the Tema Youth FC president has declined to serve on the committee after several consultations.

According to Kojo Yankah, who is a former Executive Committee member of the FA said it’s strange for the GFA to even appoint Osei Palmer on to a committee knowing that the two parties have an impending court case which he believes the FA is trying to be smart about.

“It’s the right decision taken by Palmer to reject the position. If Palmer is not deemed fit to contest or hold a position at the GFA why then give him a position at the FA,” he told Happy FM.

“We all know Palmer is in court contesting why he was disqualified so why this appointment from the FA if they are not trying to trick him to influence the CAS ruling," he added.

Osei Palmer dragged the GFA to the Court of Arbitration for Sports [CAS] following his disqualification ahead of the presidential elections last year October by Vetting Committee of the Normalization Committee.

Mr Kweku Osei was disqualified for failing to pay a percentage to the FA after selling a player.

CAS will rule on the case on Tuesday, August 4.
