Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, a board member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has abandoned his moves to pay for the salary arrears of players of the club, information gathered by Modernghana Sports has revealed.

Even though players of the Ghana Premier League club have already accepted to take pay cuts in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, it is understood that they are owed some 2 months’ salary.

In the early hours of Thursday, July 30, 2020, news broke that board member Dr. Kofi Abban has issued a cheque to be cashed out to settle the salary arrears of the players.

Upon further check, a close source to the business mogul has revealed that he has put the brakes on that move.

Apparently, the board members of Kumasi Asante Kotoko do not agree with the decision to single-handedly pay for the salary of the players.

They are hence making collective efforts to offset the salary arrears owed the playing body of the Porcupine Warriors club.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban on Wednesday donated items to Muslim players and officials of the club ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations this weekend.
