Fuel service stations comply with new law

Fuel service stations are now charging the new reduced prices of petroleum products.

All the stations JOYNEWS visited for the second time around 11 am Wednesday were applying the new prices.

The stations which were selling at the old prices earlier under the excuse that the old stock had not been exhausted have also changed to the new prices.

However there some exciting changes in the prices at which the products are selling at the various stations

Probably prompted by an earlier report on Joy FM that most service stations were still selling at the old price except Shell, all the other fuel stations JOYNEWS visited in Accra are now selling at the reduced prices with Fraga Oil being at the lower end selling petrol at 8,888 cedis per litre.

Goil is selling at 8,940 cedis with Shell, which used to sell cheapest now selling at 8,945 cedis.

Total is a bit up at 8,961 cedis while Mobil is sells highest at 8,965 cedis per litre.

But all these marketing companies will have justifications for the prices they put up, citing quality of service and other factors.

The price differences though marginal is widening compared to the last price reviews, an indication that deregulation is gradually taking root.
