Renowned boxing expert, Mohammed Amin Lamptey has expressed optimism in Isaac Dogboe to defeat Chris Avalos when the two meet in the ring at the MGM Grand Arena, USA, tonight.
Following the back-to-back defeat against Mexican Emmanuel Navarrette, the Ghana boxer has been out of the ring for over a year.
During that period, he has been to school and has also trained under 3 different trainers before finally sticking to DC-based respected trainers Barry Hunter and Patrice Harris.
Isaac Dogboe, 25, is now returning to the ring tonight to fight Chris Avalos as he seeks for a way into the rankings of the Featherweight division.
Speak to Class FM on the upcoming bout, Mohammed Amin Lamptey has stressed that it is important for Isaac Dogboe to beat his opponent.
“It is important for him to win because it is another chance, another window of opportunity provided him [after the back to back defeats to Emmanuel Navarrette]. I know Isaac Dogboe will not let go”, the former Communications Director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) said.
He added, “Now the boy is under a new trainer, under a new management. They have given him a different tutelage, a different mentality. So based on all these I know that he has come up with a new chemistry that this time around will work for him.
With a record of 18 wins [14KOs] and 2 defeats from 20 fights, the Ghana boxer is coming up against the American who boasts of 20 wins [all by way of KO] and 7 losses.
The scheduled time for the bout is 9pm ET [01:GMT].
