German lower division side, Eintracht Braunschweig has announced that they are partying ways with Ghanaian international Stefan Nkansah following the expiration of his contract.

The German-born defender who has represented the country at the Youth level was signed by the club in 2017 from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

In the 2019/2020 German 3. Bundesliga campaign Stefan Nkansah played a key role and helped Eintracht Braunschweig to gain promotion to the second tier by contributing with 2 goals after making 23 appearances.

Unfortunately, this will be the end of the road for the defender with the club indicating that his expired contract will not be extended.

“The contracts of Steffen Nkansah and Robin Becker, which expired after the last game of the season in Meppen, will not be extended”, a communique on the website of Eintracht Braunschweig has said.

“Steffen and Robin were important components of our team and have a share in the success. With the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, we want to change our large squad and reorient ourselves for these positions in the future. We thank them both for their commitment in blue and yellow and wish them all the best for their sporting and private future”, sports director for the club Peter Vollmann explained as quoted by the website.
