Zakari to lose ranking points

Listen to article

Ghanaian sprinter Aziz Zakari's 2006 athletics season continues to spiral out of control.

A two-year drugs ban means Zakari cannot compete on the international athletics circuit.

The lack of competition means the Ghanaian would lose valuable points and his place in the top echelons of the IAAF ranking.

Previously ranked third best in the 100m event, Aziz currently resides in 6th place on the charts.

Joint record holders Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell occupy first and second position while Leonard Scott, Dwight Thomas and Francis Obikwelu complete the top five.
