Paintsil closing in on West Ham move

Ghanaian defender John Paintsil has been given permission by his Israeli team to hold discussions with English Premiership side West Ham.

West Ham manager Alan Pardew says he wants Paintsil to join the club on its pre-season tour of Sweden where he hopes to rule the rule over the player before making a final decision.

Former West Ham player Benayoun who also played with Paintsil in Israel says he recommended the Black Stars right back to West Ham manager Alan Pardew before the summer.

Despite having observed Paintsil during the World Cup, Pardew insists on having the player along for the jaunt to Sweden before making a decision.
