The Ghanaian contingent to the first Africa Amateur Boxing Cup of Nations in Gabon will be hoping to return with at least a medal when featherweight Frederick Lawson fights an opponent from Benin today in a semi final bout.
Frederick Lawson, Ghana's only contender in the medal zone beat his Ivorian opponent on Saturday to qualify for the semi finals after four other boxers lost in the knockout rounds.
The 12 day championship ends on Sunday and if Frederick Lawson makes a final berth, he will fight for the featherweight gold medal on Friday.
