Accra Hearts of Oak have vowed to rekindle the spirit of the year 2000 which saw the club annex its first ever continental title, when they won the Champions League title.

On the eve of the resumption of the 2006 champion's league, Hearts say they are poised for a return to the heady 2000 season when they went on an amazing unbeaten run to win the title.

The Phobians play Nigerian side, Enyimba FC.

Hearts of Oak's opponents are expected in Ghana later today.

Enyimba will immediately be flown to Kumasi enroute to Obuasi, the match venue.

The club's board chairman Commodore Mensah told Joy Sports that, after a careful perusal of the group fixtures, they are inclined to believe that a second title is well within their grasp.

"We are going to qualify to the semifinals and repeat the feat chalked in 2000.

"In 2000, the team never lost a game and this time round, we would repeat that same dose beginning with Enyimba FC on Sunday."

Asante Kotoko have arrived in Algeria ahead of their group opener against the Algerians.

The Porcupine Warriors however face J.S Kabylie in the group A opener without Charles Taylor, Shilla Illiasu, Aziz Ansah and Yusif Chibsah.

Despite the high profile absentees, Kotoko coach E.K Afranie is confident his team will excel.

He told Joy Sports that based on results of recent games played without these players he's sure his team will do just fine.
