Ghanaian boxer Osumanu Yahaya enhanced his chances of making an early return to the world stage after beating American Gilberto Ryce in a non-title fight in Massachusetts last Friday.

Osumanu Yahaya won the eight round light middleweight contest by a unanimous point decision.

The win brings 28-year old boxer's fight record to two successive wins in as many bouts since moving to the United States three months ago.

Yahaya decided to pit camp in the U.S to pursue his sworn objective of reclaiming a spot in the WBC light middle division after loosing his commonwealth light middleweight title to Scottish Bradley Pryce in March this year.

And the win puts him in a good stead for a crack at the WBC in his next bout.

Yahaya now boasts an improved fight record of 21 wins and five defeats in 27 bouts.
