The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt E.S Okraku has urged the Ghana Police Service to set up a juvenile football team.
The GFA boss made this appeal to Director General in charge of Welfare at the Ghana Police Service, COP Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah when she led an entourage to visit the headquarters of the country’s football association earlier today.
“It will not be out of place if you decide to own a juvenile team in this country and we are sure the other services will follow”, Mr. Okraku said.
The Ghana Police currently has a female team – Police Ladies – that play in the Elite Women’s Premier League.
The team has produced a lot of top players and continues to feed the various women’s national team with quality players.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed plans to set up a Sports Policing Unit that will specialize in dealing with sporting activities.
