Former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Joe Tagoe has noted that he does not see Board Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV to be helping the club.

The business mogul who is also the President of the National House of Chiefs has been in charge of the Ghana Premier League giants as the majority shareholder for the past decade.

According to Joe Ansah who has played for the Phobians during Togbe Afede XIV’s reign, there is no indication that the Board Chairman is helping the club.

“I don't see him helping Hearts of oak. I’ve not got close to him much but from afar, he's not helping. I remember during my days with Hearts, When the season is over, we go to his house for a party. We eat and take some alcohol, ie, those who can take it.

“We did a lot of things which didn't help us when we were playing, so we don't want the young generation to fall victim”, Joe Tagoe said in an interview with Ashaiman TV.

He added, “We didn't know alcohol wasn't good for players, we fell victim to it. After eating in his house, they will just drive u to Circle, without T&T. Sometimes, some of the players will not have even 1 cedi on them to further their journey back home. We ask ourselves, what's the motive of going to see Togbe then? "

Meanwhile, Togbe Afede XIV in the past week has been commended for his ambition to make Hearts of Oak a preeminent club on the African continent.

The club Board Chairman has stressed that he wants to make the club great again and is determined to make sure the clubs gets needed infrastructure.
