Head coach of the Black Stars, CK Akonnor says his major priority is to improve the entire squad of the team.

Following his appointment as Ghana's head coach trainer earlier this year, Akonnor, 45, has been tasked to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Cameroon.

According to the former Ashgold, Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC trainer says he has to improve the players he calls for national assignments to be able to achieve his task.

“I’m looking forward to improving individual players and improve the team as a result.

“[Once] the team improves, it affects their play. That is my goal. So every time, I am thinking about who can fit into certain positions and how we can play.

“Overall I just want to improve the team,” Akonnor told Citi TV.

Akonnor also added that the players remain focus if success will be achieved.

Football requires concentration. We could be joking an hour prior to the game but after that, you need to concentrate on the game.

"That is imperative to our success and the senior players know,” he added.
