Several reports in the last 48 hours have speculated that the Chinese-owned broadcasters have started mounting pressure on the country’s football governing body to ensure the suspended football season is restarted soon.
Reacting to the news, Public Relations Officer of StarTimes Ghana, Eli Kondoh has debunked the report as he describes such stories as false.
“We are not ready to talk about GPL matter. We are still waiting for the government to give us the go-ahead. Those stories are false hope”, he said while speaking to OTEC FM.
The football season in the West African country has been on hold since March due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
Though it is uncertain when the campaign will resume, the Ghana FA has assured that it will consider all options in order to make a decision that benefits the entire football community.
