'Be Yourself' - Sammy Kuffour Tells Ghana Coach CK Akonnor

Ghana legend, Samuel Osei Kuffour has urged Black Stars coach, CK Akonnor to be a man of himself.

Akonnor, who was drafted into the national team in October ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome was named as the new coach for the national team earlier this year.

With the pressure that comes with coaching the national team, the Bayern Munich and AS Roma ace has urged the former Ashgold and Dreams FC boss to be himself.

Kuffour also pleaded with Ghanaians to offer Akonnor the needed support.

"CK Akonnor is a tough person," he told Joy Sports.

"He German boy. I mean he played Germany. I will urge him to transform how discipline and his qualities on the pitch to the Black Stars.

"He must be himself and I know with the support, he will succeed as Ghana coach," he added.

Akonnor is assisted by David Duncan.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) offered CK Akonnor a two-year deal.
