Kotoko To Get Build Its Own Stadium With Funding From Manhyia
Manhyia, the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman is set to provide funding for Asante Kotoko to build its own stadium, information reaching Modernghana Sports have revealed.
The Ghana and African giants currently play their home matches at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a venue where they have memories of past glories as well as some of their down moments.
Founded in 1935, many have often asked why a club with so much history and greatness does not have its own stadium.
In the latest development, it looks like all that backlash and if you like ridicule is about to end. Several reports say Manhyia Palace has secured $30 million to help Asante Kotoko put up its own stadium.
Sources say the funding is ready but the leadership of the club is being engaged by Manhyia to decide whether to put up the facility at Adako Jachie or a different location.
Once that is settled, the stadium project for the most successful club in Ghana in terms of league titles will commence.
