The management and staff of City Link, a private domestic flight operator, are mourning the death of one of their senior staff who drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Sunyani.
The tragedy has forced the company to cancel the launch of its internal operations in the Brong Ahafo Regional capital. An eyewitness said the late Kwabena Yeboah was found lying unconscious in the pool at about midnight on Monday.
After initial attempts to revive him, he was sent to the Sunyani Government Hospital where he died later. The deceased was booked to stay in the hotel for one month to supervise the start of City Link's operations in Sunyani.
The manager of Eusbett Hotel, where the incident occurred, told reporters that he was baffled by the incident because guests are not allowed to swim after 6pm.
