MAY 6, 2020 LISTEN

Laryea Kingston, a former Ghana international has charged Black Stars Coach CK Akunnor to put in place a good scouting plan if he wants to succeed with the team.

The criteria for calling players into the national team over the years has been questioned with many concluding that the same template has been used over the years.

However, the former Celtic and Hearts of Oak ace who made 46 appearances and scored six goals for the Black Stars says the main Coach Akunnor should scout for active players not fringe players for national assignments.

“I think there should be a good scouting plan in place which will go a long way to help him succeed.

“I say this because, during our time, you could see that all the players that were receiving call ups, were playing regularly in their various teams but that’s not the case now.

“I see some of the players who are called up for national assignments these days and it’s something else because clearly one could see that they even struggle to get more playing time,” Laryea told Starr FM Sports.
