A Plea For Mercy
Help save our motherland
A beautiful country
‘Chameleoned’ into a bat
Tattered in loaned clothes
Feeding on her intestines
Her first sons are wolverines
They serve visitors with gold
But deny other siblings of good
Her heart is being wagered
Poor her, chortling out blood
Isn’t it luckless and lugubrious?
Yes, but her sons see not.
Their game is to throw the ‘big dice’
They care not who’ll get somersaulted
Now ‘peace’, her holy honest handhold
Begging not to bow to collateral damage
