Rocky road made of rugged stones
the place where the diamonds grow
fashioned for the brave and bold
coloured with the purest of gold

Rocky road since the days of old
Ground so rough to reap or sow
encircled by a next door foe
a shelter for a wounded soul

Rocky road a story once told
thistle thorns on purple rose
doubt surround to cloud the hope
on wind driven boat i rowed

shallow route through the rainbow
journeyed through the nights alone
and just before the evening close
rocky road now take me home
