
The second edition of Ikorodu Fashion Show/Exhibition, took place last weekend in Lagos with four designers showcasing their works. Tagged “Exotic Designs”, the event which took place at the Oriwu Club in Ikorodu, had in attendance Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other illustrious sons and daughters of Ikorodu land.
Organised by Mrs Grace Dogubo, of Gravido Fashions, the event according to this native of Delta State who plies her trade in Ikorodu, is to promote the indigenous designers in Ikorodu The designers who showcased their works include, The Wardrobe, Mama Africana, Zarazaki, Yimika Innovation Art Fashion and Gravido.
The collections featured basic African designs and fabrics, ankara, adire done in casual and occasion wear modelled with head gear. Children's clothes as we ll as bridal also formed part of the collection. For many of the guests, it was a real joy to have such a show brought to their door step. The event was sponsored by St Lauren Sparkling fruit drink.
