Back-to-school (pet Project)- Little Miss Globe Queen 2919/2020

Little Miss Globe Queen Pageant, is an annual international beauty contest that is been organized by Studio A, for little girls between the age of 5-13years.

The pageant in collaboration with existing agencies/child care organizations promote more awareness in organized social gatherings, media appearances, schools seminars etc, cultivate preventive measures and take legal actions where necessary, to ensure that the rate of child abuse in the country is curbed.

In fulfilment of her mission, on 12^th of January, 2020 where she distributed educational materials to the children at home and school around Surulere mainland, Lagos State Nigeria.

Mrs. Chidinma Eluwa who was one of the guest speaker presented a speech on child abuse which she said may include any act or failure to act by a parent or a caregiver that results in actual or potential harm to a child, and can occur in a child's home, schools or communities the child interacts with. This child abuse may include physical abuse, sexual abuse and emotional abuse.

She further said that child abuse can be prevented by having a support-group structure which is needed to reinforce parenting skills and closely monitor the child's well-being. Visiting home nurse or social-worker visits are also required to observe and evaluate the progress of the child and the caretaking situation. Children's school programs regarding "good touch, bad touch" can also help in preventing child abuse by providing children with a forum in which to role-play and learn to avoid potentially harmful scenarios.

Little Miss Globe Queen expressed her gratitude to God for making the outreach a success. She said that it should not be forgotten that “one pen, one child and one teacher can change the world”

A total number of 120 children were given School bags, water bottles, Lunch boxes, stockings, pens, pencils and rulers. The children expressed their gratitude for the gift received.
