Everyone sure has one true life story to share to others to learn and Mavin Records signee, Johnny Drille, is part of those who is ready to motivate others to the top.

The singer has not had it rosy when it comes to music because his starting days were kind of rough but as God will have it, his name became known in 2015 and since then, he has been trying to see that Nigerians accept his style of music.

Sharing his story for others to learn about his musical career, he admitted that he went as far as spending the little money he had on him just to learn how produce music even at the expence of him not knowing how to handle the computer.

“Even though my music began to gain steam around 2015 I had been making music since 2006. I didn't know how making music worked a year earlier but after a friend took me to a studio to do background vocals for him I became obsessed about having my own studio. I didn't have a computer at the time but figured in the meantime that I could use my Church's equipment to record into a friend's cassette recorder.

“By 2007 I wanted to get better with music production using computers and so I went to Internet hubs and exhausted the little money I could save to buy time to research (I didn't even know how to use a computer then). I didn't really care how much I spent at the time cos there was this hunger and drive I couldn't control; It was an obsession. I learned to use a computer from scratch, learned about DAWs, music production, mixing and mastering through the internet all by myself. It wasn't a smooth ride but I totally loved and enjoyed every bit of the learning process; I still do till date. The first fee I got from music production was NGN1500. I didn't start off my music career as a singer but did as a producer. I didn't have to go and learn at the feet of an already made producer but figured out the whole process by sheer hunger and plain curiosity.

“You don't always have to be taught, you just need to be ready to learn. You could spend forever waiting on someone else BUT you could also seek knowledge and be on your way. I'm not as good as I can get so I keep learning new things everyday. Excellence won't happen overnight but it will sometime. Hang in there!”
