Talking of contemporary gospel music in Nigeria, the new entrants who are wonderfully performing in that aspect is the singing duo popularly called D'prees.
Ogoma and Moon are the blue-blood sisters from Imo State. Their maiden musical effort, Mmama Chineke, which has been enjoying massive airplays in the electronic media, is gradually becoming a toast of every DJ/VJ in Nigeria. The princesses whose brain, beauty and brawn have given their album lots of attention from the menfolk are now set to entire world that they are ready to compete favourably with the existing big names in the industry.
Ojomo is a certificate holder from the University of Lagos and a degree in Law from St. Georges Univeristy, Kenya while Moon is an undergraduate of UNILAG.
These sensational artistes, D'prees who have just turned celebrities overnight due to their artistic prowess are warming up for the album launch which is slated to hold at the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri come this October.
While grand moves are on to launch them to the international scene by some certain Igbo Group in the UK, their manager in Lagos, Chika Onyekwere a.k.a. Motion, a reputable events/PR manager is on ground paving the way for them in the music scenes in Nigeria.
“We are shocked by the response we often get from overseas, a lot of Igbo and imminent sons and daughters of this soil residing abroad are all yearning to have the pretty singers in concert abroad. We are working towards spreading the gospel throughout Africa first shortly after the album launch before embarking on Europe tour. Whichever way, before the end of the year, D'prees may be jetting out to give a dose of their contemporary gospel songs to the global audience.” Chika explained.
