D'Beat comprising of young, talented and creative minds, are the winners of the seventh series of Star Quest musical talent hunt organized by brewing giants, Nigerian Breweries PLC.
Their formation story was that of the rejected stone which eventually became the chief cornerstone. The band was formed from those rejected by other contestants during the band formation process. If Star Quest is judged purely on gender compliance, perhaps D'Beat would have won it with a clear margin but it was not. However, what most perceived as the weak link turned out to be a major asset, especially during stage performances.
Members of the band are Bassist Samuel 'T'chux' Tochux (Bandleader), Drummer Efetobor 'Skilato' Oghenetega, Keyboardist Justice Adighoand Vocalists Beauty 'B-dash' Aghedo, Adubi 'Fragrance' Charity, and Eyube 'e-wyne' Enid.
The group's debut release 'D'Beat Goes On' was launched on July 5.
The 10-track album, including their current single 'Oyoyo' was co-produced by beat maker Del B, along with hit veteran songwriter/producer Paul "Play" Dairo.
We present to you D'BEAT's first official video OYOYO, the video was directed by Patrick Ellis.
