Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi has assured Mercy Chinwo, the winner of Nigerian Idol season 2, of the state government's support towards her education and music career. Governor Amaechi said this when the Nigerian Idol winner paid him a courtesy visit at the government house in Port Harcourt last week.
Amaechi, who described Mercy, an indigene of Rivers state as a good ambassador of the state, promised that the state government will ensure that she completes her tertiary education within or outside the country. The governor said the scholarship would ensure that she furthers her education and strengthens her music career. He advised her not to compromise on her education and also urged her not to be carried away by the euphoria of her recent success, but to focus on her future prospects.
