Health Abura Eyinanbrim Gets CHIPS Compound

Antie Mary Aboakye, the District Chief Health Officer at Abura Dunkwa Kwamankese District on Wednesday,30th April 2020 handed over a fully equipped Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHIPS) compound to the Chiefs and people of Abura Eyinanbrim Community.

The health facility is expected to serve the people of Abura Eyinanbrim and nearby communities such as Abura Tyido and Abura Mampong.

In a short ceremony attended by Odikro (Nana Amoakwah II) and the Municipal Health Directorate as well as the community members and people of Abura Eyinanbrim, Antie Mary Aboakye, the (District Chief health Officer) admonished the people to "own the facility". She said the people of Abura Eyinanbrim have always craved for a health facility so they should ensure that they make good use of the facility in order to relieve the pressure off the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital.

Mrs. Mary Aboagye touched on maintenance culture. She appealed to the people of Abura Eyinanbrim Community to help maintain the facility for the benefit of future generations.

She said the Assembly is committed to ensuring that development gets to the grassroots level hence there is the need for the people to help the Assembly by protecting and preserving the facility especially looking at the investments that have gone into it.

On his part the community Chairman, Mr. Anthony Kontoh lauded the Abura Community for such a facility, he said "in the World Health Organisation's standards, nobody should travel more than 5km to access basic health services " hence the CHPS compound is a welcome relief for the people of Abura Eyinanbrim and its environs who travel several kilometers to seek for health care.

He assured the people that equipment and drugs are available at the health facility whiles health personnel to have also been posted there to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people. Mr. Anthony Konton again appealed to the people to warmly welcome the health personnel to the community and extend the necessary support and cooperation to them.

The Abura Eyinanbrim CHIPS compound was financed through the community Appeal for Fund Raising and was started and completed on 12th April 2019, and 29th April 2020 respectively. It has One bedroom with outside washrooms, Out - Patient Department (OPD), Consulting room, general ward, Records, and dispensary.
