NPP youth urged to be bold to defend their convictions

Nana Ampadu, the Northern Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the Youth Wing of the party to be courageous and be prepared to defend their political beliefs "even at the peril of their life."

"You should always be abreast with all government policies to enable you defend and explain them to your supporters and the general public whom your political opponents want to distract with lies," he said.

Nana Ampadu said this at the inauguration of a new executive for the Tamale Polytechnic branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) on Saturday.

Nana Ampadu urged the new officers to strive to win more people into the party. "Te achievements of the NPP government can be seen in the numerous development projects springing up in all parts of the country."

He urged the youth to work harder to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in 2008.

Mr Bawa Abdul-Fataw, the President of the Students Representative Council (SRC), cautioned students against mixing politics with religion, ethnicity and chieftaincy.

He appealed to the government to address the numerous problems facing polytechnic lecturers and students.
