“O ye who Believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may learn self-restraint…” (Quran 2:183)_
Today marks the beginning of the Holy Ramadan amongst our Muslim brothers and sisters across the world. It is a period dedicated to supplicate the Almighty Allah for forgiveness and also provides an opportunity to perform the _sunnah_ to seek forgiveness from each other.
This year's Ramadan fasting coincidentally fell on the period in which the world is battling with the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. We asked our brothers and sisters to use this Holy month to pray for Allah to intervene as this pandemic has the potency of wiping out the human race.
Once again, our students are advised to adhere to all the directives from the government and respect all the social distancing protocols to effectively contain the spread of the virus. Though these periods are periods of mass gatherings, we are definitely not in normal times hence, all must resist the temptation of breaching the Imposition of Restriction Act, 2020 (Act 1012) which is still in full force.
We wish you a successful Holy Ramadan and may the Almighty Allah answer all your prayers.
