Samuel Anyetei Nai, a driver of Nestle Ghana Limited, who made a U-turn on the Accra-Tema motorway, has been fined two million cedis or in default two years imprisonment by the Tema Circuit Court 'A'.

Nai charged with three counts of insecure loading, making U-turn on a motorway and driving against one way, was convicted on his own plea.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Adolphus Okyere told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that, Nai in charge of a Nissan Pickup with registration number GT 5269 X was driving from Tema towards Accra.

Whiles on the motorway, an item fell from his vehicle and instead of parking off the street and picking it; he made a U-turn in the middle of the road and drove the car in the opposite direction to where the item fell.

Inspector Okyere indicated that Nai after collecting the said item, made another U-turn from Accra direction towards Tema, facing the oncoming vehicles from Accra on the one-way drive.

At that moment Nai was arrested by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ofori of the Ghana Police Headquarters and was handed over to the Tema Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU).
