Diaspora (Germany) Decisions Will Be Made Based On Science And Data Not Sentiments And Political Opinions
APR 22, 2020 LISTEN

The people of Ghana have so far cultivated a habit of listening to the directives of the listening President H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the fight against the novel Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the first gentleman of the nation who happens to be a lawyer by profession and not a medical practitioner or a clinician, the only best way to go about solving this problem is to tackle it from an expert's point of view. This will demand that a good amount of data is collected and examined in order to be able to arrive at strategic decisions going forward.

The President on Sunday evening lifted the restriction of movements that have been placed on some parts of the country three weeks ago. And many have been left to think otherwise but the President has been clear and unwavering about this decision.

The decision is backed by data and science in order to save our paramount lives, save our economy and continue to grow our economy in the face of the virus. And in order to achieve this, it requires that we observe measures in place to avoid crowded and avoidable occasions that may cause the virus to spread.

An opened economy for Ghana has come at this time because the government has achieved some moderate levels of chasing and containing persons infected with the virus and keeping them under treatment. This is to say that with over 80,000 tests done through tracing contacts and community surveillance, the virus is deemed amply contained.

The Covid game cannot be subjected to trails and copying holistically what other countries do but drawing your country-specific data and employing tools and personnel to manage your situation.

The President of the republic is well poised and committed to casting this virus out of our dailies. We have to support him with our attitudinal change and compliance with laid down measures and we shall overcome.

To the few ones who may want to profit out of political propaganda, this may be the end of the corona. So kindly find a message and a manifesto before it is too late.

May God continuously bless the President and his array of competent appointees. May God bless Ghana.

...Signed...

Nana Boateng
