Ato Forson Support 193 Communities, Institutions In Covid 19 Fight

The communications officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Ajumako constituency, Mr. Galahad Andoh, has expressed his disapproval at calls by people for a total lockdown in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

The materials donated are, 500 veronica buckets, over 3,000 hand sanitizer, nose masks, gloves, liquid soaps and others.

He indicated that even though it will have been a good call, it will not be applicable in the country since the government may have to supply food to the citizenry across the country.

The communications officer made the statement when executives of the party on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Ato Forson, presented PPEs to over 160 communities and 60 institutions in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District.

According to him, a lot of Ghanaians depend on public toilet hence, will be difficult for people to attend nature’s call should the country go through that.

Mr. Andoh noted that lots of people in villages will worse off since most of these people depend on others for survival.

He expressed shock at the president’s directives for the closure of churches when their prayers are needed most in this critical time.

The constituency secretary of the party, Mr. Andrews Kojo Dodoo on behalf of the MP said it is the priority of the MP to see his electorate be in good health.

According to him the presentation by the MP was to ensure that the constituents are protected from contracting the virus, adding that the MP, as a result, have supplied COVID-19 preventive materials to the police command, all hospitals, schools, markets and lorry stations.

He encouraged them to continue observing the safety protocols of hand washing, use of sanitizers to prevent contracting the virus.

Receiving the items on behalf of the five Traditional Councils, the Paramount Chief of Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area, thanked Ato Forson for the kind donation.

He expressed surprise at the presentation by the MP, adding that they were wondering how to get these items to help fight the deadly virus.

He hinted that the traditional council has announced a day of prayer and fasting which will be observed soon.

This donation is the third since the MP started during this outbreak.
