What Is Mahama Doing in Akufo-Addo’s Compound?

The Gender Minister is not going to retract whatever Cynthia Morrison – I hope I am right about her name – is alleged to have said by way of promptly and aptly putting him in his place, any more than Candidate John Dramani Mahama has been known or observed to have publicly apologized to The Asantehene, His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu, II, for calling the latter a liar, in the wake of The Asantehene’s United Nations’ well-received address, late last year, in which Ghana’s most powerful invested traditional ruler recounted how His Majesty had diplomatically prevailed on a massively trounced President Mahama to concede defeat to the then-Candidate Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the wake of the 2016 Presidential Election.

The Architect of Dumsor, or at least the jolly supervisor of the same, cannot imperiously pretend to be the Co-President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana, by cheaply and tawdrily traipsing the country distributing food and Coronavirus-induced Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), without the official approval of either the country’s Food and Drug Authority (FDA) or the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and, perhaps, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection (See “Gender Minister Must Retract, Apologize to Mahama Over Her Insult on Asempa FM – NDC” News Desk – Modernghana.com 4/15/20).

Yes, he may be the country’s Main Opposition Leader by default, all right; but, of course, the fact also remains that Mr. Mahama has absolutely no enviable track-record of engaging in charitable activities for most of the period that the man who vehemently and publicly opposed President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s visionary and progressive implementation of the fee-free Senior High School System has been in the political arena. And on the latter count, Ms. Comfort Ekuamoah, the Agona-West’s Deputy Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), needs to be asked whether the Questionable Leader of her party has ever mustered the attitudinal decency to apologize not only to Nana Akufo-Addo, but also to the hundreds of thousands of talented teenagers who were deliberately denied fee-free access to the Ghanaian taxpayer-supported public education system by then-President John Dramani Mahama.

Instead, what we have seen has been Candidate Mahama virulently and flagrantly insulting the intelligence of Ghanaian youths, their parents and President Akufo-Addo by maliciously and mendaciously claiming to have conceived and implemented the very fee-free SHS policy initiative that he rabidly assailed as one that was both impracticable and intellectually and culturally regressive. You see, with Mr. Mahama, we are talking about a veritable nation-wrecker and a career criminal and political scam-artist. I mean, a man who cannot civilly and maturely account for the “mysterious” slaying of his immediate boss and presidential predecessor does not deserve the respect or sympathy of any law-abiding Ghanaian citizen. Rather, Mr. Mahama either deserves to be defending himself in court or to be serving a life sentence in prison for telling the nation, shortly after the “mysterious” death of the then-President John Evans Atta-Mills, that it was “Divine Providence in His inscrutable wisdom” who had auspiciously and fortuitously liquidated the man who had generously handpicked him for the Presidency, in order to make way for the only “Great Northern Star” of hope and prosperity and the first post-independence-born Ghanaian leader.

You see, Mr. Mahama is an unconscionable diehard common criminal who clearly does not deserve to be running for President, let alone being curiously engaged in the cheap vote-seeking distribution of non-FDA-approved PPEs and food items. For all that anyone cares, the man widely suspected to be the mastermind behind the National Democratic Congress’ heinous acts of kidnapping and violent and politically destabilizing activities in the country, such as that for which Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the National Chairman of the NDC, is presently on trial, could be deviously and criminally distributing COVID-19-infected PPEs and food items as a strategic means of affording himself a fighting chance in the 2020 Presidential Election. After all, hasn’t Mr. Mahama already told the nation that the NDC is a “Boot-for-Boot” terrorist organization of unrivaled depravity that thrives on creating mayhem and destruction in the country?

At any rate, what sort of apology are you talking and thinking about, Comfort Ekuamoah? By all means, you need to come back again and enlighten the rest of your countrymen and women on the same. Apology? Come shine my shoes!
