A licensed cocoa buying company ECOM, has presented sanitary items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

The items are part of the company's gesture to help deal with the spread of the deadly virus, COVID-19 in the region.

The Ashanti region has recorded about 18 Coronavirus cases with 2 death according to the regional health Directorate.

All hands is called to join the fight of the virus within the region and country as a whole.

As part of this needed collective efforts, one of the outstanding cocoa buying company ECOM has presented such items to be distributed to various electoral areas within the region.

The items included 30pc of 500ml Sanitizer dispenser, Hand sanitizer 30pc, Nose Mask 20 boxes, Hand gloves 20 boxes, 20 litter liquid soap 20pc, Tissues among many others.

Presenting the items, the General Manager of ECOM, Mr. Richard Sawli says the presentation forms part of the company's corporate social responsibilities.

He said this will complement government effort in fighting the fast spread of the Coronavirus.

Mr. Sawli was confident that this will go along way to protect the lives of the cocoa farmers, among other vulnerable individuals.

Receiving the items, the Presiding Member of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Hon. Stephen Ofori thanks the company for such a kind gesture.

Hon. Stephen Ofori said the items had come at the needed time where the assembly is struggling to provide such necessities to the electorate.

He, therefore, used the opportunity to appeal to other benevolent organizations to enumerate the same.

According to him, there are many vulnerable in most localities that also need basic necessities to survive during the lockdown.
