COVID-19: NDC Wishes Christians Ahead Of 2020 Easter
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its heartfelt wishes to the Christian community ahead of this year's Easter without celebration as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement released and signed by the National Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, said, “Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has come upon us this year in a manner unprecedented in living memory. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, churches are closed and the services and conventions that characterise the season have all been curtailed in order that restrictions on movement and social distancing may assist in ending the scourge of the pandemic.”
The statement noted, “On behalf of the leadership and entire membership of the National Democratic Congress, I wish all Ghanaians, especially Ghanaian Christians, a peaceful, spirit-filled and ennobling Easter.”
The Chairman, however congratulated health workers and security personnel in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. “Let me take this opportunity to also commend the frontline workers in this fight, that is, the health and security services, for their outstanding role in this national crusade.”
