Why are You Losing Hope, Oh Kumawuman Citizens? – Trust in God

Feature Article Why are You Losing Hope, Oh Kumawuman Citizens? – Trust in God
APR 8, 2020 LISTEN

I have had a strong intuition this morning of Wednesday, 8 April 2020, urging me to place out this publication to rekindle the hope in my fellow Kumawuman citizens in their pursuit of justice and prevalence of unity and peace among them. Many are those that have lost even the slightest hope of success in the ongoing Kumawu chieftaincy dispute owing to the unnecessarily longer duration it has taken but without any resolution. Their fears are exacerbated by the perceived political interferences, the obvious judicial corruption in Ghana and the powerful and rich people or traditional overlords involved, but almost all of whom are working against the common interest of Kumawuman by possibly twisting justice to favour the highest bidder doubling as the most influential party/persons but otherwise the likely guilty party in the Kumawu chieftaincy saga.

In this intuitional encounter which I always attribute them to an inner voice, which voice is an invisible Superior Being’s, thus God’s, I was directed to carry a message of hope to the discouraged by way of citing two vivid examples which are still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.

I has dawned on me to inform Kumawuman citizens that God is able and they had better trust in Him fully while doing the necessary works, praying, contributing their widow’s mite in any practical undertakings towards the full realisation of God’s promise to his people.

The two examples given to me to pass on to my fellow Kumawuman citizens are:

1. During Election 2016 campaign year, the President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, with his NDC government and party, were overly confident to have won the election already. Some of them were heard saying they had won the election already but going to the polls on the Election Day was just a formality to confirm that an election was held or else, there was no need going to the polls. This absolute believe by the NDC was often confirmed by President Mahama who often did “Usain Bolt” when he mounted campaign platforms.

However, as man proposes and God disposes, and the wish of God always comes to pass no matter the odds, the table overturned to rather give victory to his political rival, the NPP Presidential-candidate Nana Akufo-Addo.

Why was President Mahama so cocksure that he had won the election already before even going to the polls? Was it not because he had set up an election-rigging machine to his favour? This is an indisputable fact! Nevertheless, God did something in favour of his anointed one, Nana Akufo-Addo, in the nick of time to prove to Ghanaians that He, God, had designated Nana Addo to become Ghana’s next President and that regardless of whatever one does, His (God’s) will shall come to pass and reign supreme. God in His own wisdom and way provided the means to block the rigging process hence Mahama getting shocked beyond his wildest dreams. He has since not overcome his defeat in election 2016. He trusted in his set up machines and monetary expenditure to winning the election. However, God had a different plan to let His (God’s) wish materialise in the midst of the serious situation where many people had lost any hope of the NPP winning the election. Nonetheless, Nana Akfo-Addo kept believing in God and committing his campaign into the hands of God. He believed, and still believes, in the mightiness of God hence choosing his campaign slogan, “The battle is the Lord’s”

2. One Madam Akua Berhene from the Kumawu Ananangya royal family had for years schemed against her own family member, Mr John Kwasi Oduro. Mr Oduro has been enthroned by the massive popular support of Kumawuman subjects as Kumawuhene Barima Tweneboa Kodua V. Madam Berhene had not only given her support to the rival but dubiously enthroned Kumawuhene Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua from the Kumawu Ankaase royal family but had arranged the support of the Kumawu District Chief Executive, Samuel Addai Agyekum, and other influential persons to sabotage Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and his sub-chiefs and supporters in many ways. Nonetheless, in the crucial moment, God’s will came to pass to fulfil his promise to Barima Tweneboa Kodua V. Regardless of Berhene’s machinations, she could not succeed. It took a certain young man engaging her in a recorded telephone conversation to bring the evilness of Berhene to a closure.

My intuition tells me that as God has done in the two cases cited above when almost any little hope of the practical manifestation of his promise to those concerned had evaporated, the unexpected, but expected, happened, to bring into fulfilment his promises.

In Psalms 50:15, God says "and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” and again in Lamentations 3:55-56, it says, “I called on your name, LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.”

Subsequently, I call on willing and dedicated sons and daughters of God throughout Ghana and wherever they happen to be, to help the people of Kumawuman seeking nothing but true justice in the ongoing Kumawuman chieftaincy dispute, in prayers. They should pray that God must let his wish to prevail according as promised, but not according to the wish of a powerful traditional overlord, a corrupt judge or a corrupt politician.

Please, those of you who are discouraged, have lost all hope, I invite you to trust in God and pray your hardest and surely, his will be done. All is not lost. God will not sit down for supposedly powerful human beings to prevail over him, thus, prove him a liar by the failure of his promises made to certain persons.

While praying to God to rid ourselves, country and the world of the deadly novel coronavirus (covid-19) outbreak, please don’t forget the request by Kumawuman.

To end, I pray thus, Father God Almighty, please let your promise to your son John Kwasi Oduro, now Barima Tweneboa Kodua V, and Kumawuman, come to pass, but not the evil wish of those fighting their hardest to thwart your plans. Please, do not let them prove themselves mightier than you by way of their wish reigning supreme. Let them realise that they are just mortal human beings and that what you want, but not theirs, will always happen. Father God Almighty, please let Barima Tweneboa Kodua V, his Sub-chiefs and Kumawuman see your glory in the outcome of the Kumawuman chieftaincy case same as you did for Nana Akufo-Addo, for NPP and for discerning Ghanaians, in election 2016. In the name of your Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, I pray. Amen.
