Obstruction Has Remained The Famous Tool Of The NDC While The Gov't Fights For Recoveries
06.04.2020 LISTEN

Hon. James Avedzi of the minority leadership in parliament has once again affirmed the NDC's resolve to drag down all government efforts to solve the covid19 pandemic that has hit Ghana a few weeks ago.

The government has since the pandemic tried several means to find funds to fight the problem which has a possibility of escalating further if care is not taken. The minority in the parliament of Ghana unlike parliaments in other countries have not exhibited cooperation and patriotism in these difficult times.

The minority has from the onset fought against the government's measures to device emergency ways to curb the current emergency that we face. As a sign of leadership, the President has expressed intention of the formation of a national trust fund to fight corona, he has therefore dedicated his three months salary from April to June into the fund. An act that has caused many to follow suit and even do more to help ourselves as a people. The candidate for the NDC John Dramani Mahama has also made mention of his next month's salary as a dedication to the fund, the Vice President has equally given three months of his salary.

Hon. James Avedzi of the NDC has singled out the President's contribution to air his opinion as irrelevant, it may be that the President's commitment will delay because it is three months ahead and that will cause people to lose their lives before the money come into the fund.

This keeps pricking the minds of the thoughtful people as to why he may single out just the President if not for political slander and miscalculated agenda to soil the President and his commitment to fighting the disease. why not mention Mahama too, that notwithstanding, does Mr. Avedzi even know how commitment of such nature is run? And who said these things are done by upfront cash payments like fundraising in a community church in my village.

Now a little education for the NDC. The President's salary ordinarily may fall in a beneficiary account on month by month basis but since the controller and accountant general has been alerted on that fact, appropraition will be made and based on that even if the President's commitment was the only means to solve the situation, the fund can borrow same amount from any financial facility with a written paper until the installments are duly paid by the Controller and Accountant General's Department. Once again ask yourself did this ever occured to the people making such hollow statements? Obviously a visionless and missionless alternative.

Away from that, the government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo need to be commended for their efforts toward the fight against covid19.

Ghana is grateful to have such a President in these hard times and are aware we could have been worse off if not for his decisions.

Still a resounding four more years await Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

...Signed...

Nana Boateng
