The Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa Constituency, Hon. Kobina Tahir Hammond has donated his two months salaries to the COVID-19 Fund established by government.
It will be recalled that on Sunday March 29, President Akufo-Addo inaugurated the Board of Trustees of the COVID-19 National Trust Fund. The Trust Fund which is chaired by former Chief Justice, Madam Sophia Akuffo is expected to receive contributions and donations from the public to assist the welfare of the needy and vulnerable.
According to Hon. K.T Hammond, his gesture is a complement to the call by President Akufo-Addo for the public to support the COVID-19 National Trust Fund which government intends to use to support the needy in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
He has called on other well meaning Ghanaians to emulate his gesture and others who have so far contributed to the Fund.
Meanwhile, Hon. K.T Hammond has donated items worth Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 50,000) to the Adansi Asokwa Constituency.
The items include hundred (100) Veronica Buckets, hundreds of Jumbo tissue rolls, liquid soaps, nose masks, and four thousand (4,000) hand sanitisers.
The items have been distributed to CHPS Compounds, Markets, Lorry Parks and other public places in the constituency to support the fight against COVID 19 pandemic.
