The newly-appointed Central Regional minister, Nana Ato Arthur has committed himself to uniting the people of the region if his appointment is approved by parliament.

He is also determined to improve sanitation and initiate measures to take full advantage of the region's tourism potential.

Nana Arthur, who until last week was deputy central regional minister, is optimistic that parliament will approve his promotion.

'The major challenge is to look at how best to bring all people on board.

My second task is to look at the sanitation challenges we are facing, look at what is happening in Kasoa, Cape Coast, Elmina, Mankessim and Swedru.'

My third challenge is to look at the challenges we are facing with the capitation grant now that we have improved upon enrolment 25/32 per cent in the Central region.

How are we going to make headway?', he said.
