COVID-19: RIWAMA Sole Administrator, Bro Obuah Calls For Attitudinal Change
24.03.2020 LISTEN

The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro Felix Obuah has urged Rivers people and those during business in the State to take advantage of the ongoing sensitization campaigns on the dangers of unhealthy and careless living to expunge all bad habits by dumping wastes only at government approved receptacles and at government approved time of 6pm to 12 midnight.

According to the RIWAMA Sole Administrator, recent and current experiences around the globe have shown the need for attitudinal change from the old ways of living if life must endure.

It’s only instructive and wise, the Sole Administrator noted, for those living and doing business in Port Harcourt, the State capital and its environs to heed this counsel by discarding their old ways of dumping and throwing wastes through car windows and at places not designated by government for that purpose.

Bro Obuah strongly argued that prevention remains the best cure and better than having to contend with all manner of problems that could arise from an unhealthy environment caused by bad habits and wrong attitude to waste management.

On COVID-19, the Sole Administrator expressed optimism that if residents heed all sanitary advice and keep to all the measures put in place by government and other relevant authorities, there shall be no victim of the pandemic in Rivers State.

“There is nothing too difficult in leading a healthy life. Simply be kind to your environment and shun practices that constitute a danger to your life, your home, office, public places, etc and we’ll be happier and livelier for it,” Bro. Obuah declared.
