Gov’t Peddled Untruth About NHIS Payment ― Volta NDC

The NDC in the Volta region has taken judicious notice of the claim made by the finance minister concerning claims payment to all NHIS accredited facilities across the country which was reechoed by the president.

We can say on authority upon our investigations that the president and the finance minister peddled serious untruth to Ghanaians, because majority of the accredited NHIS facilities in Volta region have not been paid by government since January 2019 to date as claimed.

Below are example of claims owed major facilities in the region:

1. Claims owed facilities in the region from January 2019 to January 2020.

Akatsi District Hospital - GHC 2,508,00

Sogakope Government Hospital - GHC 2,436,00

Hohoe Government Hospital - GHC 2,724,000

2. Claims owed facilities in the region from March 2019 to January 2020

ST Paul Hospital for the handicapped - GHC 770,000

3. Claims owed facilities in the region from April 2019 to January 2020.

ST Patrick Hospital - GHC 580,000

Keta Municipal Hospital - GHC 2,050,000

Dzodze Ghana Mission - GHC 210,000

Volta Regional Hospital- GHC 4,200,000

Ho Municipal Hospital - GHC 1,500,000

Margaret Marquart Hospital - GHC 2,200,000

Central Aflao - GHC 760,000

Central Tongu - GHC 1,200,000

Comboni Hospital- GHC 1,300,000

Anfoega Catholic Hospital - GHC 700,000

Ho Poly Clinic - GHC 300,000

International Development Network - GHC 870,000

Ketu South Municipal Hospital - GHC 1,750,000

4. Claims owed facilities in the region from May 2019 to January 2020

Battor Catholic Hospital -GHC 2,043,000

ST Anthony’s Hospital - GHC 1,872,000

Peki Government Hospital - GHC 990,000.

The NDC Volta with all these unalloyed facts, call on the government to pay all facilities in the region as a matter of urgency to enable the facilities to build their local capacities and acquire protective gear in the midst of the reported cases of coronavirus in the country.
