The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has accused the deputy chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Dr Bossman Eric Asare of being bias towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said many Ghanaians including NDC hold the view that there is something sinister behind the ploy by Bossman Asare decision to support the compilation of a new voters register.

"Dr Bossman Eric Asare conduct so far portends a devious plan to set the stage to suppress voter numbers in the strongholds of the NDC and to bloat voter numbers in the strongholds of the NPP,” A.B.A Fuseini told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7.

He stressed that it is the same current voter register that was used to elect President Akufo-Addo and the NPP into office of which, the details of that election are yet to be gazetted by the EC.

"Dr. Asare in particular, most of the time, forgets that he is no longer the University of Ghana TESCON Patron (Student wing of the NPP) but a deputy at the Electoral Commission. His belligerent attitude is one that he must eschew to save his skin," he intimated.

Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini disclosed that the NPP wants to undermine the electoral process with its diabolic schemes.

According to him, Jean Mensa and Bossman Asare who heads the EC are pushing for a new register as part of moves to create opportunities to suppress votes in the NDC’s strongholds, especially the Volta Region, and artificially boost voter numbers in the NPP’s strongholds.
