The Executive Secretary of National Council for Tertiary Education Mr. Paul Effah has called for the establishment of a Research Fund for researchers to access funds.

The Executive Secretary of National Council for Tertiary Education Mr. Paul Effah has called for the establishment of a Research Fund for researchers to access funds.

This he said will help researchers to come out with quality and authoritative research findings needed for the nations development.

Mr. Effah was speaking at the launching of KNUST branch of Graduate Students Association of Ghana's annual week celebration at Kumasi.

The theme for the celebration was 'Achieving the development goals of Ghana; the role of Postgraduate education"

He asked researchers to organise themselves into groups to undertake multi-disciplinary research work.

Mr. Effah advised Postgraduate students to develop interest in research activities to broaden their horizon.

The president of the Association, Mr. Edmond Oppong-Peprah appealed to the Government to motivate corporate entities to channel part of their profit into research finding by granting them tax relief.

He called on the authorities of KNUST to allocate at least a floor in each hall of residence to graduate students as a way of reducing their accommodation problem.
