A communicator of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awal Mohammed, has heaped praises on President Nana Akufo-Addo for the procurement of 307 Ambulances.

He said the new ambulances were fitted with equipment in accordance with international best standards set out by the United Nations.

“I praise President Akufo-Addo for buying the 307 to save live of Ghanaians, we should face and stop unnecessary propaganda, look at the insides and see the equipment and colour design it meets the UN standard of professional ambulance,'' Awal Mohammed exclusively told Lawyer Ohene Gyan on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7.

However, he appealed to the appropriate institutions to ensure that lay down measures are put in place to guarantee the maintenance of all the ambulances.

He noted that Ghanaians must commend President AKufo-Addo for his efforts to save live.

President Akufo-Addo said a National Ambulance and Service Bill which identifies the funding sources of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) was being worked on and will soon be forwarded to Cabinet for consideration.

As part of the operations of the National Ambulance Service, 450 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) have been trained.

According to the Ministry of Health, before the commissioning of the 307 ambulances, there were only 50 functioning ambulances.
