The False Tolerance of John Dramani Mahama – Part 1

Feature Article The False Tolerance of John Dramani Mahama – Part 1
JAN 21, 2020 LISTEN

I have often disputed this patently false propaganda that has former President John Dramani Mahama being far more tolerant than President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, especially back in the runup to Election 2016, when Ghana’s former Foreign Minister and Minister for Regional Integration was busy gunning for the Presidency as Candidate Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. That patently false propaganda that had been peddled by the Mahama Posse, otherwise called the key operatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), continues to be pushed down the throats of those lily-livered Ghanaians who feel that they have absolutely no choice, whatsoever, but to lap up such malarkey, because they are darned morbidly afraid that brazen political scam-artists and terrorists like Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament Samuel George Nartey, popularly known as Sam George, would come after them with his goon squad of hired thugs, if they man up and attempt to refuse to be bullied into submission.

This propagandistic tripe continues to be peddled even long after Mr. John “Scandalously Corrupt” – I actually wanted to say “Pathologically Corrupt” – Dramani Mahama had shamefully exposed himself for being the terror-mongering bully that many of us Ghanaians of his age have always known him to be, in the fevered runup to the 2016 general election. Back then, as yours truly extensively wrote about, a desperate President Mahama, hellbent on hanging on to power, rudely told the very people who had so generously offered him their mandate and made it possible for him to fully assume the democratic reins of governance, as substantive President of Ghana and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), back in 2012, that they had absolutely no right to criticize his abjectly poor on-the-job performance, if they were reluctant to blindly and unreservedly sing his praises.

I knew then that it was decidedly and effectively the end of the Mahama Reign-of-Terror, under which we had politicians, both those belonging to the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the then ruling National Democratic Congress, who had been handpicked by Mr. Mahama himself, who were being slaughtered left and right by some hired and apparently well-salaried goons allegedly recruited by the Bole-Bamboi Mafia, with the staunch and collusive and collaborative backing of the Trokosi Nationalist Mafia, headquartered in both Accra and Sogakope, in the Volta Region, in a castle-like mansion allegedly owned by the Commander-in-Chief of the Trokosi Nationalist Armed Forces, namely, Chairman Jerry John Agbotui Rawlings.

Well, back then, the former Rawlings’ Communications Minister and infamous “Shit-Bomber,” how Ghanaians seem to have so soon forgotten the nickname of the then young cabinet appointee who was widely perceived to be the most wicked among the shameless pack of hoodlums who constituted the Rawlings cabinet, told the very citizens who had so magnanimously put him into Mr. Kofi Antubam’s high-backed chair at Jubilee House, that they had absolutely no right to either pretend or cavalierly presume to rub shoulders with “Little Dramani,” because none of them had been privileged like him to serve an unusual four-and-half years as President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana.

In what clearly appeared to be a mischievously calculated afterthought, perhaps after realizing that he was not exactly the vatic avatar of Ghana’s first postcolonial leader, President Kwame Nkrumah, the Bole-Bamboi terror monger or “Kaakaamotobi,” in Vice-President Bawumia’s parlance, decided to slightly “humble” himself. That was when he slightly modified his edict by saying that actually, there were a couple of exceptions to the ban of absolutely no Ghanaian citizen’s having the right to criticize then President Mahama’s abjectly poor on-the-job performance. Now, I bet my bottom-dollar that you, my Dear Reader, thought that the world-famous “Animal Farm” only existed in a classic young-adult fabular novel authored by the British writer George Orwell, aka Mr. Eric Arthur Blair. Now, you know you had it all written backwards.

You see, “Animal Farm” is what the Mahama Posse among the vanguard ranks of the operatives of the present main opposition National Democratic Congress does best. Which was why several days ago, the Bole Mafia and their Sogakope allies sent a terse but harshly worded message to the popular local Ghanaian standup comedy act by the name of Mr. OB Amponsah, to the effect that if the latter did not promptly apologize for saying that the name “Mahama,” in the Hausa language, meant “Corruption,” they were certain to shortly show OB the shortest route to Heaven. Now, this is exactly what they mean when political scam-artists like the recently retired Supt. of Police Peter Lanchene Toobu, or is it Tuozaafi, tell Ghanaian voters that Candidate John Dramani Mahama has one significant advantage over President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; and that the “significant advantage” they are referring to is something called “Tolerance.” Could almost have fooled me, really, Supt. Tuozaafi Toobu!
