Micjoy Advertising has honoured 13 distinguished Ghanaians for their contributions to national development at this year's edition of the African Quality Awards held at the Golden Tulip Kumasi City.

Instituted ten years ago, the African Quality Awards seeks to celebrate people who continue to make significant impacts in their various fields of endeavours.

Awardees for the year's event are Mr. Daniel Yao Domelevo, the Auditor-General, Mr. Isaac Asiamah, Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. Owireku Junior, Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Homeopathic Hospital, Mr. Christian Addae-Poku, Executive Secretary of National Teaching Council, Mr. Kofi Asante Ennin, Morning Show Host, Nhyira FM, Kumasi and Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Morning Show Host, Fox FM, Kumasi.

The rest are Togbe Afede XIV, President of the National House of Chiefs, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Former Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr.Kingsley Nyarko, Executive Secretary , National Accreditation Board, Ms. Sylvia Essabela Laryea, Headmistress of Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School.

Others are Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, former Inspector General of Police, Prof. Joshua Alabi, former Vice- Chancellor of University for Professional Studies and Mr. Alhassan Andani, Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Ghana .

The recipients who have over the years demonstrated high sense of integrity, excellence and commitment in both public and private sectors were identified after a rigorous selection process.

For many years, they have impacted the lives of Ghanaians in the areas of health, education, media, finance, business and governance.

The President of Micjoy Advertising, Mr. Michael Ampong, in a speech paid glowing tribute to the awardees for their selfless and dedicated services to national development.

He said nation building largely depended on the collective sacrifices of the citizenry and that if more Ghanaians could emulated the the good examples of the awardees, the country would develop at a faster pace.

Micjoy Advertising, he noted, was committed to recognizing hard work and patriotism and would continue to reward deserving Ghanaians annually to inspire nationalism among the people.

Mr. Ampong announced that his outfit as part of its corporate social responsibility would embark on a reading project this year to encourage reading in basic schools.

Under the project, 10,000 reading books would be distributed to basic selected schools in rural communities and called on corporate bodies and philanthropists to support the project.
